Study in Great Britain!

On Tuesday, 6th October, our 3rd graders enjoyed the opportunity to participate in workshops regarding studying in Great Britain.

The students became familiarized with the procedures necessary in the process of applications, they got to know the requirements which need to be fulfilled and also they received brochures with crucial data concerning the issue.
The students who were particularly interested in the subject had an opportunity to ask questions to the expert in the field.
We would like to express our gratitude to CONVERSA, a language school in Toruń, which helped us organize the event.

Show Us Your Language Skills - the FINALS!

The regional stage of the national language competition titled „Show Us Your Language Skills” (“Pokaż Nam Język”) organized by the School of Banking was held on 23 March 2015.
The competition proved, as usual, tremendously popular among students and language teachers and almost 19.000 students took part in it across Poland. Only 400 students from dozens of secondary schools qualified for the regional stage of the competition in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. 270 people competed in English language and 90 people competed in German language.

Our school was represented by 8 contestants. The competition quiz consisted of 100 questions comprising knowledge of grammar, vocabulary as well as the cultural aspects of the English language speaking countries.

Five people, who scored the highest results, were qualified for the final round – the debates. Unfortunately, none of our students qualified for the finals.
Malwina Fikiert achieved 70 points, which was the highest score for our students. Nonetheless, it is a result worth acknowledgement considering the extent and the range of issues the quiz covered.
In the recess between the quiz and the finals students participated in lectures Language skills are the key to the world” conducted by Artur Kasprowicz, PhD and a meeting with a renown globetrotter Zdzisław Preisner. The teachers participated in the neurolinguistics workshop titled “Why do we need a brain in school?” conducted by Dorota Ackermann-Szulgit, PhD.
Congratulations
to all winners and participants!
