On Monday 10th June, our school had the honour to host Katy Carr who is a worldwide-known singer of Polish origin. Katy Carr participated in classes with students from 2B form. The classes were conducted both in English and Polish language because Katy speaks very good Polish. Katy told the students herself, about her new album and the reasons why she took interest in Polish history.
Katy Carr granted the students the opportunity not only to listen to her singing live but also to join her as a choir. We sang one of the songs from her new album titled “Paszport” about a bear named Wojtek. The whole album closely relates to Polish patriotism and touches upon the nightmare of the World War II.
With no doubt the meeting with Katy Carr constituted a great lesson for our students, not only in terms of the English language but also in terms of Polish history.
We would like to express our warm gratitude to Katy Carr for the visit and we wish her all the best.
