At the
beginning of November 2012 the class III d
from our school invited two Syrian boys:
Mahmoud aged 17 and Ward aged 16.
The boys are students of secondary school in
Damasco. They are cousins of Natalia , one of the students from this class . The boys have been staying at Natalia's
family since last holidays. They decided to leave Syria together with their
families because of serious armed conflicts
in this country which began in March 2011.
During the
classes our students showed them around the school and discussed the differences between Polish and Syrian systems
of education. Two students also made a presentation about Torun - the town of Copernicus. The new
friends presented photos of Syria and
discussed its culture, monuments and cuisine. Syrian students enjoyed the time
spent with Polish ones.
The students communicated in English.
