An interview with Harry and Jason

Kasia Wesela and Michał Reszkowski had the pleasure to interview our guests before they left our school.

Here it is what they said...

Kasia: Have you tasted our regional food? What kind of food was it?
Harry: It was a really special kind of food. I really like bigos. It’s such a big right me that bigos is a few vegetables mix together. And It’s really delicious.

Jason: I can’t remember the name of the food. I don’t remember but it was very delicious. It was very delicious. Harry remember this name. I have bad memory. It was good.

Michał: What do you like most in Poland?

Harry: Let’s see. The town maybe because some of them are really stunning. Maybe the people because you guys are really friendly. Town is stunning and pretty.

Jason: I think the style of architecture. Here is extra originally because I come from different cultural background. You know. I come from different culture and everything is WOW WOW WOW to me. And also I think people here. I think the people I meet was really good and I get it in my heart.

Harry: In Toruń? I don’t think so. I live in host family and they are really nice to me. People are tolerant. Look at you guys. You’re also friendly.

Jason: Vary friendly.

Kasia: Do you want to stay longer in Poland and why?

Harry: Yeah of course. I have two months but I think it’s not enough because this two months I have only for this project. It will be finished in two months. They said that they will give me a week of break and I also stay here one week. It’s not still enough. I need a few weeks to explore Poland.

Jason: You know Poland is a very big country and you know you can just see a culture from one of two cities and I prefer to have more time in Poland to see more parts of Poland. Because I think the culture is not only in big city. In the corners you can see more details of culture and I prefer that. You know it’s like in China. You can’t see China only in big city. You need to go to small and for the corners and taste and explore some culture I think.

Michał: Is there anything that especially surprised you in Poland?

Harry: The weather! I’ m from tropical country and when I’m going here it’s winter and it kind of surprise but I’m expecting something from your weather. Actually even it’s cold but I always expected snow. Because it isn’t in my country.

Jason: I think is the beer culture. I think that if you want to have friends some people especially boys drink beer and it is the same in China. And I have beer culture in China and when I stay in Poland it surprised me

Kasia: Do you see any cultural difference between Poland and your country?

Harry: Of course yeah! My country is religious and still kind of traditional. It is still different. People are tolerant. They know what to do. They are ambitious still. But in Indonesia totally different.

Jason: Your culture is still different than my culture. European culture is totally different from Chinese culture. I’m here and I notice that you protect your traditional constructions. You protect buildings that are beautiful. In China there is a very big problem. It’s a bad situation. A lot of Chinese people prefer modern buildings and destroy traditional constructions and I think that in this aspect you are very good. We need to learn from you guys because you care about your traditional culture. In China is a bad situation.

Harry: It’s different than in Indonesia because in Indonesia most of buildings is the mixture of traditional and modern architecture.

Jason: In my country traditional constructions are destroyed in big cities and capital city.

Harry: In Indonesia it’s different we love to mix styles traditional and modern. We love mixture.

Michał: Have you any advice for students from our school?

Harry: Sure... Learn more. Learn more because it’s like me I tell it every student. My score wasn’t really good but I had opportunity to study English. It’s your opportunity to learn. You still young. You have to learn more. Specially maybe English. You’re so shy. Don’t be so shy! You are good looking.

Jason: I agree with Harry. You know. The world is very big and you have opportunity to study English, Spanish, French, Italian... Why not? In China a lot of people don’t have opportunity.

Harry: It’s like in Indonesia. Less than 60% of people learn English. You got a really huge potential .

Jason: You know it. In some age. In our age we have a good memory and we should learn. If you are older you will be too lazy to study. You’ll prefer to do business and to work. In our age is better. Harry: Try something new but don’t forget about your culture

Kasia: Thank you very much!
