Foreign quests arrived in our school

On Monday 4th February we welcomed three foreign trainees participating in the international students exchange programme – AIESEC.

The trainees are staying in our school for the whole week and they are conducting 60 hours of meetings with the students from our school.
Ge from China

Gizem from Turkey

  Iqballa from Indonesia

Ge, Iqballa and Gizem present their countries and touch upon their various aspects such as history, art, geography, religion and culture

Apart from that there are also down-to-earth subjects as national dishes, music, dances or popular entertainment. The trainees discuss important issues such as national stereotypes as well. The classes certainly raise students cultural awareness and broaden their horizons. The sessions with the foreign quests constitute a perfect moment to break cultural barriers and exchange opinions.
The students are exposed to a direct contact with the English language users, which builds a strong springboard against standard mundane textbook-based classes and motivates them to further hard work with the English language. The students may challenge their linguistic skills, especially speaking and listening comprehension, through direct conversations with the foreigners for whom English is a second language as well.

The third graders put their language skills to the test just before the forthcoming Matura Speaking Exams. We hope the traineeship is going to improve their skills and make them aware of the importance of the English language in their future life.

There are four days of studying ahead of us so lets get to work!
